The Gathering Boxing Fight Night Special
Saturday 27th February 2016 saw Phoenix Fire ABC v St Saviours Olympic Boxing Academy from Dublin, Ireland. The charity boxing event was in aid of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital where boxers fought and put on an incredible display of boxing skills.
Phoenix Fire ABC had an impressive win rate where the club produced outstanding performances from a dedicated team.
Young 11 year old Luke Turner had the honour of opening up the show and once again never failed to impress by putting on a great bout showing a mix of good movement and accurate punching. Brad Robinson showed great form with a convincing win over his opponent following 3 rounds of exciting boxing and also forced the referee to give a standing 8 count to the away boxer in the third round.
George Farrelly produced one of the evenings best performances by beating his opponent unanimously after a strong and well paced bout and also on the bill was the ‘hard hitting’ Ryan Lynskey who stopped his opponent in the second round securing a TKO after the other fighter was in no condition to continue following Lynskey’s strong and accurate punching combinations.
Last but not least JJ Taylor secured a unanimous win after 3 well fought rounds. His opponent was also warned by the referee on multiple occasions during the bout for ‘leaning on’.
Bayode Oluleye secured a unanimous win leaving his opponent struggling to hit the target after quick and elusive movement skills from the Phoenix Fire Boxer.
